Brinham Young is 5 years old, by Traducer ; dam Missie, by Nutfrith, winner in 1876 of the "Wanganui Grand National Steeplechase of 250 sovs., beating a field of thirteen first-class horses ; and at the Taranaki Races, in the Handicap Hurdles of 50 sovs., ran second to Butcher Boy, over 4 ft jumps, 2 miles; and at the same Meeting, ran third to Glenavy in the Maiden Plate. WHEREAS by Section 176 of “ The Counties Act, 187 G,” it is among other things enacted, that the Comity Council of any County may from time to time make Bye-laws for the good of the County. And, whereas, the Patea County Council did, at a Special Meeting held on the 2nd January, 1878, pass a resolution adopting Bye-laws the for Registration of Dogs, Regulating Traffic over Bridges, and Regulations for the Hospital; and further, did, at a Special 1 Meeting held on the sth February, 1878, confirm the same : Now it is by this Order declared that the aforesaid Bye-laws shall be, and the same are, hereby declared to be the Bye-laws of the Patea County Council, and shall come into force on the Ist day •of March, 1878.
