IT is hereby notified that the under' l mentioned Allotment of Land, situate on the Eastern side of the Mountain Road, in the Huiroa District, will be offered at public auction, at the Taranaki Institute, at noon on Saturday, the 9th February next, at the upset price set opposite to the number. IT' is hereby notified that the under*mentioned Allotments of Land, situate on the Eastern side of the Mountain Road, in Huiroa District, will be open for selection by application, on Deferred payment system, on Saturday, the 2nd day of February next, at the upset price per acre placed opposite the number of each allotment. Provincial District of Taranaki. TOWN OF STRATFORD. ifN or about the month of APRIL, 1878, JL Allotments in the Town of Stratford, situate on the Mountain Road, at its intersection by the I’atea River, and distant 29 miles from New Plymouth, 14 miles from Inglewood, and 17 miles from Hawera, will be offered for sale. The Town is situate on the line of tho Waitara-Wanganui Railway, which is now open between Now Plymouth and Inglc=> wood ; the earth works arc completed, and the bridges in course of construction, between Inglewood and the Mangamawheta River—he., to within 9 miles of Stratford —and the bush has been felled along the railway line, preparatory to carrying on the construction from Mangamawheta to Stratford, and a stun has been voted by the General Assembly for completing the railway to this point. The importance of the site selected for the Town will be best, indicated by slating that at, or near, this point will be tho junction of tho Wellington, Auckland, and New Plymouth Railways. The site of the Town has been felled, and the sale is delayed til! April in order that the bush may be burnt, and intending purchasers enabled both to inspect allot* ments before bidding, and also to commence building immediately after (lie sale, should they desire to do so, which would be impossible if the land was sold with the bush still standing on it.
