IT is hereby notified that the undermentioned Allotments of Land, situate on the Eastern side of the Mountain Road, in Huiroa District, will be open for selection by application, on Deferred payment system, on Saturday, the 2nd day of February next, at the upset price per acre placed opposite the number of each allotment. Provincial District of Taranaki. TOWN OF STRATFORD. IN or about tbe month of APRIL, 1878, Allotments in the Town of Stratford, situate on the Mountain Road, at its intersection by tlic Patca River, and distant 29 miles from New Plymouth, 14 miles from Inglewood, and 17 miles from Jlawcra, will be offered for sale. The Town is situate on the line of the Waitara-Wangfaniii Railway, which is now open between New Plymouth and Inglewood ; the earth works arc completed, and the bridges in course of construction, between Inglewood and the Mangamawhete River— i.e., to within 9 miles of Stratford —and the bush has been felled along the railway line, preparatory to carrying on the construction from Mangamawhete to Stratford, and a sum has been voted by the General Assembly for comjdeting the railway to this point. Tlic importance of the site selected for the Town will be best indicated by stating that at, or near, this point will be the junction of tlic Wellington, Auckland, and New Plyiyontb Railways. The site of the Town lias been felled, and the sale is tilt April in order that the bush may be burnt, and intending purchasers enabled both to inspect allotments before bidding, and also to commence building immediately after tbe sale, should they desire to do so, which would be impossible if tbe land was sold with the bush still standing on it.
