[advertisement.] (To the Editor of the Patea Mail.) Sir, —Will you allow me, through your columns, to wish my good friend Mrs Grundy a happy Now Year, and to express my sorrow, that I cannot at this present time, give an exact account of my private affairs, which are in a very unsettled state, but I am happy to inform her that my pecuniary difficulty in which the good lady took a kind interest, has passed over, and with it the fourth of the month. I had some difficulty; it is true, to arrange with, and subdue some of my creditors, hut all, excepting a small sum, is now settled, and I start a new year with almost a clean sheet. While lam on the subject I will take the opportunity of correcting a slight error under which my friend lias been laboring. It is merely a question of figures, and knowing, as I do, her propensity to treat such in a large way, I might perhaps leave it alone—yet with a view to helping her future judgment, I herewith: correct her present error.
(j/y November transaction teas a matter of fifty pounds, not a hundred.~)\ In conclusion, let me again wish Mrs Grundy a happy and successful new year, —I am, &c.,- t INCOGNITO. POST OFFICE NOTICES.
