The Town is situate on the line of the Waitara-Wanganui Rail way, which is'now open between New Piyinouthtand Ingles wood ; the earth works are completed, and the bridges in course of construction, be* tween Inglewood and the Mangamawhere River— i.e., to within 9 miles of btratford —and the bush has been felled along the railwaj 7 ' line, preparatory to carrying on the construction from Mangamawlietc to Stratford, and a sum has been voted by the General Assembly for completing the .railway to this point. - f The importance of the site selected for ■ the Town will be best indicated by-stating that at, or near, this point will be the junction of the Wellington, Auckland, and New Plymouth Railways. The site of the Town has been felled, and the sale is delayed till April in order* that the bush may be burnt, and intending purchasers enabled both to inspect allotments before bidding, and also to commence building immediately after the sale, should they desire to do so, which would be impossible if the land was sold With the bush still standing on it.
