Hack Hurdles, of 10 sovs; entrance, 1 sov; once round and a distance; over four flights, 3ft Din; weights, none under 9 stone. Flying Handicap, of 30 sovs; nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 2 sovs; distance, threequarter of a miles. Carlyle Cup, of 30 sovs; entrance, 2 sovs; distance, 2 miles; weight for age. Hack Race, of 6 sovs; entrance, 10s; distance, three-quarters of a mile; catch weights; post entries. Handicap Trot, of 15 sovs; nomination, 10s; acceptance, 1 sov; distance, 3 miles; distance handicap ; any weights ; no qualification will be required for this race. SECOND DAY, Friday, February 22. Handicap Hurdles, of 30 sovs ; nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 2 sovs; distance, 2-jr miles; over nine flights of hurdles, 3ft 9in; no weight under 10 or over 12 stone; nomination night of general entry. Handicap to be posted in the Albion Hotel by 9 p.m. on the evening of the first day’s races. Acceptance by 10 a.m. nest morning at the Hon. Sccx-etary’s office.

Maiden Plate, of 40 sovs; entrance, 3 sovs; distance, miles; weight for age; for all maidens at time of entry. Hack Race, of 5 sovs; entrance, 10s; distance, Itt miles; catch weights; post entries. Patea District Jockey Club Handicap, of 100 sovs; nomination, 2 sovs; acceptance, 3 sovs; distance, 24 miles; top weight not to exceed 10 stone. Forced Handicap, for Winners, of 20 sovs; entrance, 2 sovs; optional to losers at 1 sov; distance, 14 miles. Nominations for the Flying Handicap, the Patea District Jockey Club Handicap, and the Handicap Trot, must be made at the Secretary’s office, Carlyle, on or before 8 p.m. on the 28th December, 1877. Weights to be declared on Wednesday, 9th January, 1878. Acceptances to be made on the night of General Entry, sth February, 1878. General Entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary P.D.J.C., at the Secretary’s office, Carlyle; entrance money enclosed, with the name, age, pedigree of the horse, as also name of owner and colors of the rider, by 8 p.m. on Friday, sth February, 1878.
