SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.
— O—NEW PLYMOUTH. December 18. A telegram was r'oatl at the Waste Lands Board meeting yesterday, stating that the Undcr-Sccretary lor Crown Lands declined the application for Mr Christie’s Special Settlement, and also refused the services of a surveyor to the Small Earns Association. Land near Wilson's mill, Nor.nanby, js to bo surveyed at once, and ottered for sale for cash, and on deferred payments. Messrs (Line Bros, made application for 4.000 acres, on same terms as Mr Christie's. The Hoard decline to recommend any moic special settlements —the Government having refused Mr Christie’s and otbeis. It was stated at the Board that Government officials had been .speculating in native land. Mr Bade.L-v's application to exchange ids land at this end for some near Carlyle could not bo entertained.
