WOODSIDE STUD HORSES TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON, WITHIN THE PATBA COUNTY, The following Horses— DEAD_SHOT DEAD SHOT is a beautiful chestnut, 6 years old, stands 1G hands high, with immense girth. Pedigree—By Eavensworth out of Certainty, by II Barbiere, &c., &c. Vide Stud Book; Dead Shot has been shown Five Times, and taken Five Foist Prizes, viz. . —Nelson, Taranaki, Wanganui (silver medal), Patoa (twice, silvermedals). Dead Shot’s stock is allowed by competent judges to bo second to none in the Middle Island. Terms—Single marcs, £5 ; two or more, £4 10s ; groom’s fee, ss. Guarantee, £7. MONARCH. MONARCH is a rich brown horse, G years old, stands 16 hands 1 inch, with splendid bone and great weightcarrying power; by Ravensworth, dam Plover. (For further particulars vide Stud Book.) Monarch ran in Nelson as a 3-year old, winning the three events he started for. He afterwards broke down in Wellington, and has not stood training since. Monarch is own brother to Hercules, who ran most successfully for several years in Christchurch ; and half-brother, on dam’s side, to Malvina, who was one of the best performers in the South, beating Calumny and other -noted cracks. ' PRESIDENT is a beautiful rich roan (now the fashionable colour in England) ; imported from Melbourne by John Shield, Esq. ; was bred by Kenneth McKenzie, Escp, Heidleburgh, Victoria, and is rising 6 years old. Pedigree—By Lord Clyde (imported), out of Blossom by Prince Charlie (imported), out of Kate (imported) by Lothian Tam (imported). Terms—Single mares, £3 10s ; two or'more, £3; groomage, ss. President will travel to Hawera on Mondays, Normanby and Kctemarae on Tuesdays, returning to Woodside on Wednesdays ; Fridays, to tVhenuakura and back; remainder of week at Woodside. To Run with Mares in Paddock QUICKSILVER QUICKSILVER was bred by J. Hamilton, Esq., 3 years old, and is a good useful roadster, suitable forgetting compact cobs and buggy horses; stands 15 hands 2 inches, and is hy Quicksilver (imported Norfolk trotter), out of Sattelite’s danr. Terms—£2 each mare. Xord Nelson* LORD NELSON is a model pony, 4 years old, and stands 12 hands high, by Tom Thumb, out of a well-bred pony mare. Terms —£2 2s each mare; gro'omage, 2s 6d. Paddbcldng free for three Weeks, after which Is 6d per week will be charged in all cases.
