WOOBSIDE STUB HORSES TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON, WITHIN THE PATEA COUNTY, The following Horses— DEAO__SI-lOT DEAD SHOT is a beautiful chestnut, 6 years old, stands 16 hands high, with immense girth. Pedigree—By Ravehsworth out of Certainty, by II Barbiere, &c., &c. Vide Stud Book. Dead Shot has been shown Five Times, and taken Five First Prizes, viz.,—Nelson, Taranaki, Wanganui (silver medal), Patea (twice, silver medals). Dead Shot’s stock is allowed by competent judges to be second to none in the Middle Island. Terms—Single marcs, £5 ; two or more, £4 10s ; groom’s fee, ss. Guarantee, £7. MONARCH MONARCH is a rich brown horse, 6 years old, stands 16 hands Hnch, with splendid bone - and great weightcarrying power; by■ Rayensworth, dam Plover. (For further particulars vide Stud Book.) Monarch ran in Nelson as a 3-year old, winning the three events he started for. He alterwards broke down in Wellington, and has not stood' training since. ! Monarch is own brother to Hercules, who. ran most successfully for several years in Christchurch; and half-brother, on dam’s side, to Malvina, who was one of the best performers in the South, beating Calumny and other noted cracks. Terms—Single mares, £4; two or more, £3 10s ; Guarantee (approved marcs), £5 ss. N.B.—A CUP (to be called the “ Woodsido Cup”) of TWENTY-FIVE GUINEAS will be given, to be run for as two-year olds on Patea Course—marcs to bo nominated on General Entry night, 1878—for the produce of the above horses.
