It is stated that the promise made by Major Brown some time ago, that survey operations would be commenced on the Waimate Plains early in the spring, is about being carried out. Mr Tregear, of the firm of Fraser and Tregear, is about to start surveying on the Midhirst Special Settlement Block, and will probably be engaged there some months. A meeting of creditors in the estate of Mr Alfred Tourner was held at Carlyle, on Thursday, when Mr W. Dale was appointed and accepted the office of Trustee.
