[TvEuter’s Telegrams to Press Agency.] SYDNEY. October 30. Mr Parkfls has been elected for Canterbury ; Robertson was nominated for several constituencies. LONDON. October 24. A Herald special says the Indian Viceroy’s last telegram reports further rain had fallen, and prospects were more cheering. The Famine Relief Fund amounts to half a million. Gladstone is paying a series of private visits to Ireland. The Blackheath highwaymen were sentenced to seven years. The Pomeranian Bank at Stettin has failed —liabilities, twenty-one million marks—and has caused wide-spread disstrese. Public works have been stopped. There has been a Kaffir outbreak on the frontier. Two*attacks were repulsed. Sulieman Pasha’s main army has retreated to Easgrad. The retreat is threatened by General Zimmerman’s advance from the Dobrutscha.
