PATEA HARBOUR BOARD. A shouting of the above Board was held at Carlyle on Monday last. Present : Messrs. G. F. Sherwood (in the chair), Captain Wray, J. Milroy, and Henry Williamson. Proposed by Mr. Milroy, seconded by Mr. Williamson, and carried unanimously, “That in answer to Major Akinson’s telegram re constitution of the Harbour Board, the following is considered to be the mamiei in which the Board ought to be constituted —one member nominated by Government ; the chairman of the County Council ; two members of the Carlyle Town Board ; and one member clecled by each riding of the County.” Resolved “ That the telegram as read, expressing the opinion of the Board, be immediately forwarded to Major Atkinson.” Resolved “That thrcc-peneo per load, not exceeding one cubic yard, or any part of a yard, be the price charged to public bodies ; and six-pence per load, or any part of a load, to private persona, for gravel taken from any of the Harbour Board Reserves.” The Board adjourned.

PATE A WEST ROAD BOARD. Tine ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held at the Secretary’s office, Carlyle, on Monday last. Present : Messrs. Mcßae (in the chair), Wilson, E. R. Morgan, A. Hunter, Honey held, Balmforth, and E. J. Morgan. Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. Moved by Mr. Mcllae, seconded by Mi, Wilson, and carried, “That Mr. Hunter see Mr. Marchant with reference to tree fallen across Hnrsthonse Road.” On the motion of Mr. E. R. Morgan, seconded by Mr. Wilson, it was resolved, That the "chairman, and Messrs. Hunter and Iloneylield, interview Mr. Dunn re deviation of Ball Road, and ascertain whether he is willing to allow the deviation, and on what terms. To report at next meeting.” 'fenders were opened for works on Fetch Road, hut being informal, and in the Board’s opinion, too high, neither were accepted. It was resolved that the time for receiving tenders be extended till next meeting. Resolved “ That the report of Messrs. Fraser and Trogear on Garsed Road, be referred back to them for additional infor mation. On t lie motion of Mr. E. R. Morgan, seconded by Mr. Honeyfield, it was resolved, “ Tnat the engineers be instructed to lay off works on Upper Kakaramca Road.” It was resolved that a mooting of ratepayers should be called for the 22nd instant, to consider the question of closing a portion of Crompton and Gaised Roads. Resolved “ That notice be given to the objectors to the taking' of a portion of Mr. Eairweathcr’s land for road purposes, that the Board will hear objections to the same on Monday, October Bth, at three o’clock.” It was resolved that Messrs. Fraser and Trcgear be allowed 255. for clearing track for taking levels on Ball Road. Account passed — Pat EA Mail, £2 11s. On the motion of Mr. E. J. Morgan, seconded by Mr. Balmfoi th,it was resolved, “ That tenders be called for works on the Tarnaha Road, opposite Air. P. Campbell’s, and that Mr. E. J. Morgan point out the ground to the engineers for the purpose of preparing plans,” On cutting near Mr. Christies’ gate at Manntahi, it was proposed by Mr. E. J. Morgan, and seconded by Mr Balm forth, that"the sum of £5 be expended. Amendments were proposed by Messrs. E. R. Morgan and Wilson of £2 and £3, which being lost, the original motion was carried. It was resolved that the work should be carried out under the supervision of Mssrs. E. J. Morgan and Balmforth. Mr. E. J. Morgan applied for a sum of money to be expended on Tongahoc Road, the consideration of which, on the motion of Messrs. E. R. Morgan and Hunter, was deferred till next meeting, Mr. Morgan being requested to ascertain the amount necessary for the purpose. Tfle meeting adjourned.
