A RICH Dapple Drown, staiuls 10 hands 2 inches ; possesses splendid hone and muscle, good action, and staunch in work ; was bred by Mr J. Parish, of Canterbury. Won Ist prize in Christchurch as three-year old in 1870 ; Ist prize in Timarn, 1871 ; 2nd prize Hutt Show, Wellington. Is out of Titstone, imported from Tasmania (who fetched ISO guineas at Tattersall’s), by imported horse Major, from Scotland. Major took Ist prize in Tasmania three years running ; w T as bred by Mr Kerr, of Ayrshire, out of prize mare Clydesdale, got by Ole Prince Royal, who gained seven prizes in 1859, and took Ist prize as best horse at the great show at Harnett. Britannia will travel to Carlyle on Mondays ; Kakaramea on Tuesdays ; returning to Wiiroa on Wednesdays ; will visit Waitotara on Thursdays; returning to Wairoa on Fridays. Terms—Single mares, £3; two or more, as per agreement. Paddoeking free for one month; after that 2s per week. All due care taken, but no responsibility. Fees payable Ist January, 1878. WHEREAS by section 88 “ Public Works Act, 187G,” it is among other things enacted, that the County Council may make County Roads throughout the County. And whereas by resolution of the County Council of Patea, passed on the 7th day of August, 1877, it was resolved that the main line of road from the Waitotara to the Taungatara Rivers should be a County Road.
