Election of a Member for tbe Fatea County Council. EXTRAORDINARY VACANCY. I N consequence of no Candidate Laving liccn nominated for the Vacancy in the Unworn Riding, caused by the resignation of A. Winks, Esq., I hereby notify that an ELECTION will take place in the Government Cottage, used as tl 10 Native Office, at Hawera, on SATURDAY, the 25th day of August, for the purpose of electing a member to fill the same. Nomination of candidates will take place in the aforesaid Cottage, on Thursday, the Kith August, at noon. Nomination papers will he received hy the Returning Officer, at the office of the Patea Comity Council, Carlyle, from the date of publication hereof until 4 p.m. of Wednesday, the 15th August, and at the Government Cottage, Hawera, from JO a.m. till noon of Thursday, the 10th of August. l\omis of nomination can be had on application to the office of the Patea (ytfmty Council, Carlyle, or to J. VfOTICE is hereby given, that at a Special Meeting of the Patea County Council, held on the 7th day of August, 1877, it was resolved—“ That the Main Lino ot Road from Waitotara to Taungatara be a County Road, and that a (Special Meeting of the Council be held on Tuesday, 4th September, to confirm the same.” And further, at a Special Meeting held ou the same date, it was resolved “ That the scale of impounding fees under the Provincial Acts be retained for the present, and that a Special Meeting be held on the 4th September to confirm the same.” G.
