Election of a Member for the Patea County Council. EXTRAORDINARY VACANCY. IN pursuance of the authority vested in me by writing under the Seal of the Patea County Council, I hereby notify that an ELECTION will take place at the Government Cottage, used as the Native Office, at Hawera, on MONDAY, the 13th day of August, for the purpose of electing a member for the Hawera Riding, in place of A. Winks, Esq., resigned. Nomination of candidates will take place at the aforesaid Cottage, on Saturday, the 4th day of August, at noon. Nomination papers will bo received by the Returning Officer, at the office of the Patea County Council, Carlyle, from the date of publication hereof until 4 p.m. of Friday, the 3rd August, and at the Government Cottage, Hawera, from 10 a.m. till noon of Saturday, the 4th of August.
