[Per Press Agency.] — LATEST WAR NEWS. SINGAPORE. June 22. Batteries have commenced bombarding the forts at Kars, ' The left wing of the Russians is marching towards Koprikoi. The Turks are retreating to Delibati, where they will receive reinforcements. Later. The Turks at Delibati were defeated, and were compelled to fall back on Erzeroum. WELLINGTON. June 23. The following message is the first received by the Government here from the Agent-General, dated London, 21st June The Russian left wing gained a victory at Delibati, in Armenia. The number of Turkish killed is reported at 1,000, and 4 50 prisoners. The Russians arc about to cross the Danube, and an important battle is hourly expected. LONDON. June 25. Bayaziel has been retaken by the Turks. St. John’s, New Brunswick, has been almost totally destroyed by fire. The damage done is estimated at fifteen million dollars. The French Senate has adopted the proposal for dissolution. June 25, 12.13 p.m. The British Cabinet-in-Couacil has resolved to ask the sanction of the House of Commons to obtain credit, in order to provide for paying the expenses of precautionary preparations in case of war.
The Russians are crossing the Danube at Galatz. The Turks are under walls. Dautchin is retreating further. A despatch from states that Russia does not intend to acquire stamboul. SYDNEY. June 25. The Sierra Nevada has arrived from New York with immigrants.
