Hurdle Rack, of £25, added to Sweepstake of £2. Distance, two miles, over eight flights of hurdles 3 feet 9 inches high. 'Weight for ago. All horses that have won any race over £SO, to carry 141b. extra ; or over £25, 7U>. extra. 2. Hack Hurdle Rack, of £5, added to a Sweepstakes of 10s fid. Post entrance. One and a half miles. Catch weights. 3. Maori Hurdle Rack, of £5, added to a Sweepstakes of ss. Two miles. All horses to be owned and ridden by Maoris. 4. Hawkra Handicap, of £35, added to a Sweepstakes of £3 3s ; second horse to receive £5. Nomination, 30s; acceptances, 30s. Two miles. 5. Consolation Stakes, £lO. Entrance, 10s fid; for all beaten horses; handicap. One and a quarter miles. H U L E S. 1. The 'Wanganui Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. 2. All disputes to be settled by the Stewards, whose decision shall be final. 3. Persons lodging a protest will place £1 in the hands of the Secretary on making the same, which money will be forfeited if such protest be deemed by the Stewards frivolous or unjust. 4. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are requested to give notice to that effect to the Secretary, at least fifteen minutes before the hour of starting. 5. Any jockey riding except in the colors entered, will be fined £l. fi. Any person entering a horse in any race, except in a hack race, must ho a subscriber of not less than £ 1 Is to the meeting, 7. Nominations and acceptances will not bo received after the time stated under any pretence whatever. 8. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross proceeds of all moneys paid in accordance with the programme, for expenses. Nominations for the Hawera Handicap, addressed to the Secretary, must be made on or before 8 p.m. on the 7th May, 1877. Weights to be declared on 21st May, 1877. AN Express will leave the Welcome Stranger Hotel, Waverley, for Carlyle, conveying Passengers and Parcels, every Tuesday and Thursday morning, at 8 o’clock; and leaves Carlyle for Waverley the same day, at 4 o’clock.
