April 6. At the Supreme Court, Albert Carrol, an old offender, was sentenced to four years penal servitude, for breaking into and entering a dwelling. The Alburnia Company has declared a dividend of 2s Gd per share. The District Inspector of Sheep has attempted to stop the sale of a number of sheep from Patea, which lie pronounced to be scabby, although the landing inspector bad passed them. Rigorous inspection is likely to be instituted. WELLINGTON. April 5. Major Atkinson and family left for Taranaki last night in the Hincmoa. The Premier will probably be absent front Wellington for three or four weeks, and
will probably, during the interval, address bis constituents. Nothing definite is known at present.
