CHAIRMEN WANTED.
[to the EDITOR of the patea mail.] Si a, —A short time since, a correspondent pointed out that the members of public bodies were entailing too much work on one person—viz., Mr G. F. Sherwood, our respected Chairman of the Patea County Council, Carlyle Town Board, and Patea Harbour Board. It seems that he is now confined to his room, which I suppose is in consequence of the large amount of work he has to perform in connection with the different offices he holds, and for which he only receives the paltry sum of £SO per annum, that being the amount allowed him by the County Council; therefore I think the other bodies who cannot do without bis services, should vote him some allowance from the funds at their disposal. —I am, &0., Ratepayer. Patea, March 26, 1877.
