HAWERA TOWN BOARD.
A special meeting of the Hawera Town Board was held at the Clerk's office, on the evening of the 14th instant, at 7 o'clock. Members present, Messrs Davidson (Chairman); Furlong, Cameron, Baker, McL’Dowie, Winks, and Bamford. Minutes of meeting held on the sth instant, read and confirmed. Proposed by Mr Furlong, and seconded by Mr McL’Dowie, “ That Air Hamrnerton be instructed to draw out a deed of trust, as required by the Government, for the Town Reserves lately endowed in the Board.” Carried.
Proposed by Mr Baker, and seconded by Mr Cameron, “ That the Chairman communicate with Capt. Wray, with the view of having the Cemetery Reserve endowed them as a (rust, similar to other Town Reserves,” Carried.
It was resolved, —That the Government bo again communicated with on the subject of providing a Court-house and Lock up, with the view of [minting out the great necessity of such a request being granted. Proposed by Mr McL’Dowie, and seconded by Mr Furlong, “ That tenders tie called for gravelling about 2U chains of footpath.” Carried, Account passed for payment —John Twigg, £l. Tlie Board then adjourned.
