Christchurch, March 2. The Grain market is very unsettled. Millers, through competition, have run the price of sound wheat up to 5s ( Jd., consequently they have the market to themselves. Merchants and exporters cannot look at these rates. It is expected that in course of a week or so prices will recede, which they must if exporters Avithdraw from the market till millers are full. Oats are, on the whole, badly discolored, and up to 2s 2d is the fanners selling rate. Barley, 3s to 3s Gd Flour, £lO, in sacks, for old. All grain crops arc now in stock, and threshing is in full swing - , and as deliveries come in increased prices arc expected to settle down to legitimate value.
Worn, and Produce Market, March C. —The Now Zealand Loan Agency .reports : Wool market up to date, (not given) 00,000 bales sold. Superior greasy and combing, washed, firmer ; mediunq and inferior, greasy, easier. The competition, on French account, is moderate, and on Belgian and German account, dull. Seedy and burry avools are neglected. Sales close on March 28th. The tallow market is flat. Sales of Australasian comprised 1800 casks beef, 40s ; mutton, 41s. Wheat market is quiet ; Adelaide is Avorth 4Gs ; New Zealand, 54s per 4901 bs. The leather market easier ; trade demand is quiet. Best sides, Is per lb.
