Amongst ncw-comers to the district during; tho past week was tlic llcv. James Tony, who was a passenger per ship 1 Himalaya ’ which vessel arrived in 'Wellington from tho old country about three weeks ago. The reverend gentleman is from East Lothian, Scotland, and is a minister of tho United Presbyterian Church. Whilst iu Wellington Mr. Tony preached in tho ‘Willis Street Presbyterian Church, and again on his arrival at Wanganui. Mr. Tony also conducted service in (lie Carlyle Town Hall on Sunday last, and is announced 10 preach at Hawera and Manutahi ou Sunday next.
