TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON IN WAIROA PATEA, & HAWERA DISTRICTS. The Thoroughbred Horse DEAD SHOT. DEAD SHOT is 5 years old, by Ravensworth, out of Certainty, by II Barbiere, out of Chance, by Sir Hercules, out of Finesse, by Tasso, out of Flirt, by Mariner (Arab). Ravensworth, by Touchstone, dam Fair Jean, by Verulam. 11 Barbiere by Figaro, dam Emilius mare. (Vide Stud Book.) Dead Shot is a beautiful golden chesnut, standing 16 hands high, with a splendid temper. Dead Shot’s stock in the Nelson and Marlborough provinces are second to none in New Zealand, as much as 300 guineas having been refused for a yearling filly by him out of Fidget this being the filly of which “ Augur” writes in the ‘ Australasian’of 13th May: “ This filly is by Dead Shot, out of Fidget, by Sir Hercules, and, like many of _ the descendants of the last-named, she is a chesnut, standing nearly 15 hands 2 inches. Her head is handsome, though her ears are large, but the forehead is broad, and the eye bold and full, giving her a most intelligent appearance Her neck is nicely moulded and her shoulders long and powerful. Oyer the back she is something wonderful, being nicely ribbed, and having exceedingly powerful but well turned quarters, and a good set of legs, she is indeed one of the grandest fillies that New Zealand has ever produced ; and if anything belonging to the weaker sex is to rival the doings of Lnrline and Calumny, this of all the fillies I have seen is the one most likely to do it.” Terms—£s; Groomage, ss.
