In order to afford our readers all the news possible, we made arrangements for a supple" merit, which we now furnish with the present issue, and which we trust will be acceptable. We understand that Major Atkinson may be expected to pay a visit to this district early in January next. Though no intimation to that effect has been given, we presume that he will not allow the opportunity of addressing the Egmont constituency to p>ass by. We remind our readers that the Patea Sports will come off on Tuesday next, the 26th inst., and a very fair programme has been put together by the Committee. In another column appear loiters on the electoral qualification at the coming County election. In explanation of part of Mr Sherwood’s telegrams, we are requested to state, that he had been in communication with the Government on other matters, but we quote the telegram, as given us, entire.
