PEDIGREE : TOM KING is out of Litstono (imported from Tasmania), was also the dam of the celebrated horse Britannia. Litstono was sold for ISO guineas at Tattersall’s. Tom King was got by King Fergus, sire of Sir Colin Campbell and many other celebrated horses, King Fergus was got by Lord Byron, the property of Mr Proudfoot, of Dnmfrieshire, who gained the first prize of £4O at Annan, when 1 years old. Lord Byron was got by old Prince Royal, Avho gained the first prize at Aberdeen, and also at Johnson. King Fergus Avas bred by Mr Mnir, of Kircudbrightshire, out of his prize’mare Clydesdale, Avliich Avas bred by Air Frame. King Fergus gained seven prizes in- 1800, and had the first prize awarded to him as being the best animal of the horse kind at the great slioav at Hamilton.
