LIST OF AGENTS.

Patea Maid Office, Friday Morning. Mr W. Dale reports having held a very successful sale of sections in the new township of Woodville, on Thursday last, immediately after the Government land saleThe auctioneer commenced business by reading the conditions of sale, and pointing out the necessity for a township in the locality, stating that the site chosen was well adapted for the purpose. After in forming the audience that it was not intended to place any reserve upon the sections that would be offered at the sale ; forty sections (principally quarter acres) were offered and sold, sections in Ball Hoad realising the highest prices, viz., from £4 12s fid to £lO 10s, each ; nine being sold at an average of £7 12s each ; sections in Ilursthor.so Hoad averaged £fi 5s cadi ; and sections in other streets fetched from £2 15s to £G 2s. G. Friday Evening. Mr W. Dale reports that during - to-day lie sold 15 sections in the township of Woodville, at higher prices than what the other sections similarly situated fetched at auction yesterday.

Wanganui, October 20. The shipping trade lias been brisker during the past month than it has been for sometime previous, as a glance at my export returns will show ; but as the summer approaches, I do not anticipate this will keep up. Beef is not very plentiful, but mutton wo have in abundance. The sale to-day was not so well attended as usual, owing in a measure to the small supply of store cattle I had to offer ; the demand for them is still unsatisfied. Beef was of good quality and large, and made about 22s Gd the lOOlbs, Mv next sale will be held on Wednesday the Bth November, instead of Thursday, the latter being a general holiday Cattle. —Go head only came forward. Some of the beef pens were passed in at the auction, bat were placed after the sale at quotations. Fat cows, from TSlOsto T9 10s ; bullocks, from T9 10s to Til os ; store heifers and steers, TG 15 ; yearlings, T3 3s. Sheep. —737 were penned, and sold as follows : Fat owes in wool, 9s 9d, wethers in wool, 9s to 11s 3d ; shorn ewes, 8a • shorn wethers, 10 ; owes and lambs in low condition, 7s 9d the couple ; fat lambs, Gs 9d. Houses. —The yard was well supplied. A few sold from T5 to TG 10s. Exports.-— 202 cattle ; 1740 sheep.
