PEDIGREE : TOM KING is out of Litstono (imported from Tasmania), was also the dam of the celebrated horse Britannia, Litstono Avas sold for 180 guineas at TattcrsalTs. Tom Kino Avas got by King Fergus, sire of Sir Colin Campbell and many other celebrated horses, King Fergus Avas got by Lord Byron, the property of Mr Proudfoot, of Dnmfrieshiro, avlio gained the first prize of £lO at Annan, AA'hen 4 years old. Lord Byron Avas got by old Prince Royal, avlio gained the first prize at Aberdeen, and also at Johnson. King Fergus Avas bred by Mr Muir, of Kireudbrightshire, out of his prize mare Clydesdale, winch Avas bred by Mr Frame. King Fergus gained seven prizes in 1860, and had the first prize aAvardcd to him as being the best animal of the horse kind at the great slioav at Hamilton.
