Auckland, September 20. Messrs. Hunter ami Nolan report that there was a large muster of stores anil an average number of dairy and fat stoci\ at Newmarket. Notwithstanding the wet, there was a good attendance of buyers. Dairy cows were without alteration in value. For stores, prices were in favor of the purchaser, and for fat beasts in,favor of the vendor, top sorts reaching 40s. per 1001b. They quote : Dairy cows, £8 to £lO 5s v yearling and U-year-olcl steers, from £3 2s. Cd. to £4 ; two and three-year-old steers, from £5 10s. to £6 12s. 6d. ; four-year-olds, £7 10s Sheep were, in good supply at Newmarket on the 19th, and met spirited bidding at from 2s. 2d. to 2s. Bd. per 81 bs Pigs were very scarce—demand unsatisfied Air. Unckland ropnrts that at Remncra, on the 14th, dairy cows •were plentiful, but of variable quality. Prices varied .from £5 to £9 each. Store cattle in average numbers; calves and yearlings were at-lower values than of late ; grown cattle maintained late values. Fat cattle in full'supply—150 head penned, mostly of large size, and good quality. For the first 120 head prices were steady at 355. the lOOlbs. ; then lessened ss. the lOOlba., and the balance were withdrawn. Store sheep in moderate numbers and hde. values. Aged ewes with lambs at side brought from 12, 3d. to 17s. Gd. each, •’’at sheep in full supply—above GOO penned. Prices slightly lower than last week, and averaged 34. the pound.
