Head Shot is a beautiful goldenchesnut, standing 16 hands high, with a splendid temper. Dead Shot’s stock in the Nelson and Marlborough provinces are second to none in New Zealand, as much as 300 guineas having been refused'for a yearling filly by him out of Fidget this being the filly of which “ Augur” writes in the ‘ Australasian’ of I3th May i “ This filly is by Dead Shot, out of Fidget, by Sir Hercules, and, like many of the descendants of the last-named, she is a chesnut, standing nearly 15 hands 2 inches.
