HAWERA TOWN BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the Ilawera Town Board was held on Monday last, at the Town Clerk’s office. Present—Messrs Winks, Bamford, McL’Dowie, Cameron, Baker, and the Chairman. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved of. It was resolved that Captain Wray again be communicated with, re road on north end of section No. 30, and to inform him that the Board intend leasing the said section in entirety, should he deem it not worthy to answer the question of the Board. TOWN RESERVES. Mr Baker proposed, and Mr Winks seconded, “That the various sections on reserve No. 37 be leased for a term of 7, 10, or 14 years, at the option of the lessee, and that a deposit of six months’ rent bo paid on the fall of the hammer.”—Carried. Kesolved, that the lessee of reserve No. 30 erect a line fence thereon. It was also resolved that the lessees of the various building sites pay a deposit of 50s on the fall of the hammer. It was ordered that every section be fenced in separately, and that all buildings and improvements whatsoever erected on the various sections become the property of the Board at the expiration of term of lease. All fences on reserves Nos. 35, 36, and 37 to be either post and rail or wire, and at the expiration of lease to be left in good repair. . Mr Cameron proposed, and Mr Bamford seconded, “That Mr Dale act as auctioneer to sell ( the leases of the various town reserves, and that such sale be held on Saturday, the 2nd of September, and that notice to that effect be published in the Patea Mail, and also in the Wanganui .Evening and Weekly Herald." —Carried. Proposed by Mr Baker, and seconded by Mr Winks, and carried—“ That a committee. consisting of Messrs Cameron, McL’Dowie, and Bamford, be appointed to to report, at the next meeting of the Board the works most urgently required to be executed within the town.” Accounts passed for payment—Walter Alzdorf, £2O ; J. Strachan G-reig, £6 12s 4d. The meeting then adjourned until the 4th September.
