Patka Mail Office, Friday Evening. W.M. Cow BUM reports': —At Ids Kakaramoa monthly sale, on the 20th instant, 117 head cattle, 150 sheep, and several horses were yarded. The attendance was good, and bidding’ spirited throughout. Two pens cows, aged, sold at £4 15s ; valves, G to 12 months, 53s'; steers, in good condition, 2 to 3 years, £G 15b and £7 2s Cd ; one pen 3 years 'and upwards, realised £7 10s ; 14 head prime fat cattle fetched £9 15s ; £G 5s was offered for young dairy cows, hut not considered enough. Sheep ’consisted of dry ewes and hoggets, light weights, withdrawn at 8s 0:1, 7s 3d being offered ; £2B was offered and refused for a young draught horse ; 1 young bull elicited no bid. Tbo day was very wet.

BUB BRAN U. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY. REPORT. W a -\'<! a \’ur, July 20. I held an extensive sale of stock at Mr Chuhbin’s, at Hawcra, on the 13th hist. The stock were of superior quality and showed good breeding ; the bidding was spirited throughout and prices obtained wore satisfactory. At the St. Hill-street yards, yesterday, Poe beef was of good quality, amt made fully 20s the lOUlhs. 1 do not think holders will get the extensive rates for beef this spring that Wore anticipated as the extraordinary good season has made a plentiful supply, and our export trade is limited. Cattle — At Hawcra, 480 head were sold —fat cattle, mixed cows and bullocks, £8 ; store cows, £5 12s 6d •; bullocks, £6 17s Gd ; 18-uionths-old mixed sexes, from £3 17s Gd to £4 12s Gd ; yearlings, £o ss. One superior cow fetched £ls ss. At the yards, yesterday, 60 head were yarded and sold as follows ;—Fat bullocks from £9 12s Gd to £lO ; cows from £7 2s Gd to £7 10s ; store cows, £4 5s ; steers, £G 7s Gd. I quote -best beef a't 20s, inferior 17s Gd Sheep—3Gl were penned', chiefly stores. One pen of good fat owes'made 10s Gd. Wethers about half fatted and light weights, 7s t)d ; ewes and lambs, 10s the couple. Good mutton is worth 2d per lb Houses —At the Hawera sale I sold 21 head. Light draught horses made from £l9 10s to £23 5s ; yearlings from £slss to £l2. One Day Dawn filly fetched £ls. Hacks from £9 to £l3. At the sale yards, some good horses were offered and sold. Heavy draught animals brought from £34 to £42 ; Hacks from £5 to £7. Exports —l 34 head cattle, 1300 sheep.
