IT is hereby notified, that, after the Ist of January next, the use of Impressed Stamps on Bills of Lading is compulsory. Such documents must, after that date, be written upon paper previously impressed at the Head office, and cannot bo stamped after the execution thereof. It is requested, therefore, that Merchants, Shipping Agents, and others concerned, will, without delay, forward to this office such forms as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the usual requisition and receipt of the Bank of New Zealand for the amount,, ess the authorized discount. Information may be obtained "at any ■ Stamp; Office. The provisions of the Act bearing on this point are as follow: “ 47. Except where express provision is made to the contrary, all duties are to be denoted by impressed stamps only.” “ 62. (1.) A Bill of Lading-includes also any receipt given in lieu thereof from the master, mate, owner, or agent of any vessel, and is not to be stamped after the execution thereof. (2.)
