The Otago Daily Times says: —“As showing the extent to which the Sunday railway trains are availed of in Otago, when there is a fine vessel to be seen at Port Chalmers, or when there is any other special attraction, it may be mentioned that the last train yesterday consisted of 19 carriages, and brought hack to Dunedin one thousand persons. About two thousand persons visited the port by train during the day.” For wedding dresses, wo are told by a London fashion paper, pure white is now out of fashion ; cream or ivory-white is invariably, used, and certainly throws up the lace trimmings admirably. At the Police Court at the Thames, three charges of petty larceny were preferred against Sir Richard C. Coulson physician, and he was convicted of one stealing a meerschaum pipe, and sentenced to six months. The other tw r o were withdrawn.
