First Quarter —IJOth, 0.28 p.m. The ketch Blackwell still remains a prisoner, the fright fill weather of: the last few days rendering it quite impossible for her or any craft to venture to sea. Her four-footed passengers appear quite happy in their tloating home, in which they have now been more than a fortnight. They keep in excellent condition, and are .quite reconciled to the position. The stench arising from them, however, is something to he remembered if once sniffed, mid the sooner they take their departure the better. Tim p.s. Tongariro started from Wanganui for this port on Tuesday night last, hut had to put hack in consequence of the gale that sprang up shortly after leaving. She returned to port on Wednesday afternoon, after a twenty four hours tossing of a very unpleasant nature.
