The fact that 1 have a large stake in the township, and that all my business lies here, may be taken aS substantial guarantees that I will, in case of re=cloction, do all in my power to forward its best interests, for in studying them, I am studying my own, and with the progress of Carlyle, my success is completely identified. If an earnest desire to do my duty impartially, without fear, favor, Or affection, be a passport to your confidence, 1 may rely on your support, I pledge myself to so act, and should I fail to fulfil that promise, I will on being called on by a majority of the ratepayers, at once resign my trust into your hands I have been a resident amongst you between eight and nine years, and during that time you have had an ample opportunity of judging me.
