Letters were toad from Messrs M. S. Peacock, J. Christie, and R. B. Hamilton, complaining of the bad state of the cuttings on theTamnnha lb a 1. Tenders for different works were then opened —For works on lower end of Garsed Road—G. A. Marclr.mt, E2G 4s Od ; E. & E. Horner, , £3O ; TV Jenkins, £Go. Proposed by Mr Wilson, seconded by Mr Honeyheld —‘‘That Mr G. A. Marchant’s tender be accepted.”—Ganied. 'For falling- 61 chains of bush on Mountain Road.—R. -Tut look, 8s per chain, T. Jenkins, 17s Gd, per chain. Two other tenders, Were received for this work at higher prices, but they were informal, and therefore rejected. Mr Tullock’s tender was accepted, and two months allowed to finish the work. No tenders were received for works on the upper portion of Garsed Road. Proposed by Mr Gane, seconded by Mr Mcßae —“That Mr Christie be authorised to supply Mr R. B. Hamilton sufficient timber to make a culvert 1G feet long.to bo placed on the Mauawapo Road.” —Carried. Resolved —“ That Messrs Christie, Hunter and Morgan, be empowered to inspect the two cuttings on the Tanmaha Road, and expend a certain sum in improving the same.” Proposed by Mr Mcßae—“That the time be extended for receiving tenders for works on the upper portion of Garsed ’Road, and fur works Acquired on the third hill front main road, on the same road, till the 12th June Ucxt.” —Carried. Resolved —“That the next meeting of the Board take place. On the 12th June, at 3 p.m.”
