Broivi.ANi) reports that at itemuera. on the Sloth, dairy cows were plentiful and lower in price Store cattle in average numbers, Out of very inferior quality and dull of sale. .Fat cattle in full numbers ; 10;) head sold to the trade; last week’s pi ices sustained. Few store sheep penned. Fat sheep in usual numbers ; 500 sold at slightly advanced values. Store pigs pVntifiil and in request at late values. Fat pigs short of inquiry and better worth. Prices given were ; Dairy cows and heifers, iff to £l3 ; fat cattle, 27s (Idto 32s (id the 100 lbs.; fat wethers, till to JVpl ; ewes, from 2-ld the lb ; aged ewes, 7s Gd to Pis each. —Messrs limiter and Nolan report that there was a very large muster of cattle at Newmarket on the 2Hth March. The. dairy stock was not so good as for the hint week or two, and several were wittidrawn for higher rates. A good many of the stores were coarse, exhibiting neglect in the breeding, and consequently were not so keenly comneted for ; as were a few pens of well-bred. The fat beasts with few exceptions were good, and the bidding was brisk. We quote dairy cows, ,c<) to £l2 ; yearlings, from £1 17s (id to ,P3 5s ; 2-year-olds, from £3 15s ; 3-year-old sleers, £5 5s to P(5 7s Gd. Beef, from 27s Gd to 35a per 100 lbs. There was a large muster, an active demand for sheep, and prices ruled higher than for some weeks. Good wethers sold from 15s 9d to 22s ; lambs (shorn), ‘As Od to 10s Od. Pigs were in good supply, and well competed for, obtaining fully 3*d per il), live weight. Puonrt.'K, &r.—Mr il. Arthur reports that potatoes sold for 4s to 4s lid ; onions, |}d to Id per lb ; cheese, 3d to Gpl ; bacon and hams, 4d to lid per !b ; butter, pastry, B,|d tn 9d ; oats, 3s 2d ; maize, 3s 10d ; maize, damaged, 2s 5d to 2s 0d per bushel. —At Mr Greenwood's sale of poultry, the following prices were realised : —Turkeys, 3s to 4s Gd each ; fowls. Is 3d to 2s 10(1 each ; chicks, Od to Is 3d each ; ducks, Is 3(1 to 2s 2d each ; rabbits, Is 2d each ; potatoes, 3s to 4s per cut ; onions, Jd lb eggs, Gd, od,' Is 3d, and Is (id dozen. ■WELLINGTON. f lUA IN AND PROVISION MaRKKT. —Mr O’Shea reports wholesale produce prices, as follows —Flour, PlO 10s to .£ll 10s ; oats, old, 2s9d ; new, 2s 3d ; potatoes, £5; bran, od, at auction ; cheese, 10d ; hams and bacon’, Is to Is 2d.
