Sir George Grey’s latest notion Is that Provincial Abolition is a crime against the Whole human race. British Empire contains a larger than the Empires of Russia, Austria, France, and Germany combined. The total population of those is only 223.000. while that of Great Britain is 200.000. The Canterbury Times of the 27th Nov, chronicles the arrival, per steamer Albion, of nine and a half couple of harriers. The pack consists of five couple of old hounds and nine whelps. Two of the whelps wore unfortunately killed on the voyage down. The lovprs of field sports are looking forward to some good runs after a few of the hares which are now' becoming plentiful in the vicinity of Christchurch.
