PATKA CRICKET CLUB.
ro THE EDITOR OF THE PATE A MAIL
Sir,— We learn that a meeting o£ some members of the Patou Cricket Club was held at the Australasian Hotel, on Wednesday evening, and that another meeting has been convened for to-night, for the purpose of receiving our resignation. As these meetings have been privately convened through the instrumentality of a defeated minority of the committee, and in direct opposition to a resolution of a full committee meeting, we decline to recognise the formality of any such general meetings, and would ask the members of ■the club who may have bi aisled by onesided views of the ma Ll jr, to suspendthdr judgment until the return of the Hon. Secretary from Nelson, when a formal inciting of the whole club will be called 5 and a plain statement of the facts of tho cate la d before the membo s. In simple justice to ourselves we askthe members of the club to believe that wo had no dption in adopting the course we have., taken, but were compelled to’ absent- ourselves from these meetings, or to allow the club to be made a tool of by one or two memborsWc are Sir, G.
