PATEA ANNUAL RACES.
Entries for the Jockey Club Handicap took place on Saturday last, when no less than fourteen nominations were received. A slashing race may be fairly anticipated, should only a reasonable proportion only accept, and it is expected that at least eight will conic to the post as candidates for the honor and the sovereigns, especially the latter. The other races arc sure to bo well filled, and, altogether, the best meeting ever held in the district seems certain. The following are the entries for the Handicap :
