The Splendid Thoroughbred Horse MONARCH Monarch is a dark brown, stands 16 hands 1 inch high, and has splendid bone, and from hia breeding and size is in every way suitable for getting racers, hunters, or superior hackneys according to the class of mares put to him. Monarch is by Ravcnsworth —imported dam Plover, by Sir Hercules ; dam a thoroughbred marc, imported from Sydney by Henry Redwood, Esq. Ravcnsworth by Touchstone, dam Fair Jean, &c., &c, (vide English Stud Book). Plover is the dam of Void gear, Patch, Malvina, Monarch, and Hercules, all good performers on the turf, the four latter having been sold at the following figures : 180 giis, 250 gns, 240 gns, and Hercules (own brother to Monarch) bought in at 250 gns. Dam by Glancer, imported—Granddam by Captain, imported—great-grand-dam imported mare. Wonderful Lad will rim out with mires in good paddocks with plenty of feed and water.
