Monarch is by Eavcnswoi-lh—imported dam Plover, by Kir Hercules ; dam a thoroughbred mare, imported from Sydney by Henry Redwood, Esq. Ravensworth by Touchstone, dam Fair Jean, &c., &c. (vide English Ktud Book). Plover is the dam of Voltigeur, Patch, Malvina, Monarch, and Hercules, all good performers on the turf. Ihc four latter having been sold at the following figures : 180 gns, 250 gns, 240 gns, and Hercules (own brother to Monarch) bought in at 250 gns. SPEEDY’S STATION WOOL PRESS mills wool-press will be found to rcX commend itself by its great simplicity, by its efficiency in working, whether as regards power or rapidity, and by its small cost as compared with the ordinary Screw Presses. With the exception of the ironwork the press can he, made on the Station hy any one having a small knowledge of carpentering. The iron rollers and pawls can he had from Messrs Rorkrtsos & Co., Phocxix Foundry, Wellington, who are in possession of the patterns for eastings. Foa the set they 'charge Four Pounds Ten- Shillings (£4 10s.), or they will supply iron fittings for wood rollers for £2 15s. The rollers made .entirely of iron arc to be preferred. For License to make and use one of these wool-presses the charge is Five Pounds sterling-.
