PATEA EAST ROAD BOARD.

A special meeting of the above board was held at the Albion Hotel, on Saturday last. Present :—Messrs E. R. Morgan (Chairman), Mcßae, G. W. Gane, Hunter, and Wilson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were read from Messrs Dale and Cowcrn, withdrawing their offers for secretaryship to the Board. A letter was read from the Superintendent’s clerk, enclosing a communication from the Provincial Auditor, requesting the Board’s cash book for the past year to be forwarded for inspection.—Resolved that the book be forwarded. PAYMENT. An account in favour of Mr J. Gibson of £3, for cartage of 712 feet of timber from Ketemarae, was ordered to be paid. GANE ROAD. On the motion of Mr G. W. Gane, seconded by Mr Wilson, it was resolved—- “ That tenders be called for works on Sandhills, part of Gane road, subject to proposed alterations to be made in the plan. BALL ROAD. On the motion of Mr Wilson, seconded by Mr G. W. Gane, it was resolved—- “ That a sum of money be expended on cuttings in Ball road.” Proposed by the Chairman, seconded by Mr G. W. Gane—“ That a sum not exceeding £ls be expended on the Ball road under the supervision of Messrs Hunter and Wilson. The Board then adjourned till Monday, September 6. 4^
