PLOUGHING MATCH.
This match came oft yesterday on the ground of Mr Hansen’s, near Wairoa. Only eight ploughs competed. There was a fair atendancc of visitors present, and the prizes awarded were liberal. We are only enabled to give the bare result in this issue, but will furnish a full report in our next. A dinner was hold in the evening at the Town Hall, a capital spread being provided by Host MLean. Best Ploughing. First prize—lsaac Lupton, set harrows (value £6 6s) and £6. Second prize, J. Best Plough Team. First prize, £1 Is, Isaac'Lupton. Second prize. 10s 6d, James Wilson. Best Harness. Prize, £1 Is, James Wilson. Best-groomed Horses. Prize, £1 Is, Isaac I.upton.
