SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.

NEW PLYMOUTH. (from our own correspondent.) July 2. The Council closed yesterday evening, and the members dine this evening with the Superintendent and Executive. In Appropriation Ordinance the following items appear :—Patea Agent and SubTreasurer, £25 ; Patea Institute, £SO ; Inspector of Scab £l2 10s ; Education Board £IOO. Kelly said he had given instructions to Harbor Master to have all necessary things to river done. All publicans and bottle licenses in Patea would have lapsed had not Mr Peacock advanced the money to pay same. Messrs Peacock and Sherwood leave by coach in the morning.
