ARRIVAL OF THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL.
AUCKLAND. May 28. The Mikado Las arrived with the San Francisco mail. She left ’Frisco on the Ist May, and on the 25th experienced a heavy gale ; she lay to for fifty hours. The mails arrived at ’Frisco eight days late, owing to the. floods having- washed away part of the railway in the neighbourhood of Green liiver, Wyoming. TI ic floods were caused by the meeting of the snow. Line was repaired with great activity. General Summary. Lord Hobart, Governor of Madras, and Sir Gill cry Pigott, Baron of English Court of Exchequer, are both dead.
