LONDON. April 28. At the installation of the Prince of Wales as Grand Master of Freemasons in Albert-street Hall, 7,000 masons were present, Torres Straits mail delivered on the 24th April. April 30. An influential deputation yesterday ioterviewed Lord Carnarvon, urging the annexation of New Guinea. Lord Carnarvon acknowledged the importance of the subject, but thought the Government should proceed cautiously. He desired a manifestation of more interest in the matter from Australia. A banquet has been given to Governor Bowen, which was a great success. The Duke of Edinburgh presided. Three ■ hundred guests were present. The I principal speakers wore—Sir George Bowen, Lord Kimberley, and Lisgaid, Duke of Manchester, Sir James Feignsson, Childers, Charles Lowther. IV.
