One million and a half bushels are en route. Wools unchanged, with little business doing. The year’s revenue amounts to £4,500,000. The Pope has exhorted Prussian Bishops to continue their resistance, and vote against Bismarck. Belgium complains of the offensive language of the clerical press. The “ Jupaganda,” in France, says that the definite establishment of the Republic must be respected by all parties. AUSTRALIAN TELEGRAMS. MELBOURNE. April 6. Parliment meets on the 25th May. An idea is gaining ground that Government intend to impose either an Income or Property Tax. Hastings, the American Good Templar, is lecturing here, and has created a little sensation. The late harvest has averaged a yield of seventeen bushels to the acre. SYDNEY. Six horses ran for the Imperial Cup, which was won by Imperial, with Reprieve second, and Lurline third. Lurline won all aged stakes, beating a moderate field. Sir Hercule’s horses won seven races, and were placed in five others. The Government intend to introduce a Bill to limit land selections to 640 acres. Favorable accounts continue to arrive from the Palmer. The gold is reported to be plenty, but a sickly season has set in. The blacks are reported to be very troublesome. Great opposition is offered to Chinese immigration, and a conflict is expected to ensue. HOBART TOWN. Typhus fever is reported to have broken out aboard H.M.S. Barracouta. In consequence of there being no hospital accommodation, she has sailed for Sydney.

NEW ZEALAND TELEGRAMS. AUCKLAND. April 12. Another large fire occurred on Saturday night in the ship yards of Messrs. Henderson and Spraggins and David Gork and Armstrong, in Custom-house street. The property destroyed consisted of sheds, spars, ships’ knees, tools, &c. The total loss is estimated at £1200. The vessels on the stocks were all saved. The origin of the fire is unknown. The property was uninsured.
