The price paid for shags in the Rotorua district has been reduced from 2s 6d to Is a head. Shags, which make great inroads on trout, have been well shot out in Rotorua in recent years and not many are now to be seen near the lakes. With the reduction it is not likely that, sportsmen will spend as much time as they did previously in hunting for them and an increase in the numbers of the shags maybe expected.
