NOVEL DIVORCE SUIT
CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUES. WELLINGTON, June 22. In view of the important questions involved both divisions of the Court of Appeal are to sit to hear argument in the divorce suit, Florence Kate Worth v. Charles Stanhope Worth, on July 7. The case is regarded by the legal profession as one of great constitutional importance, and raises questions relating to the international effect of domicile in divorce and the powers of the New Zealand "Parliament to pass legislation affecting the status of persons who have never been within the jurisdiction of the local courts. The Act in (Question is the Divorce and Alatrimonial Causes Amendment Act 1930, which gives a woman who has resided in New Zealand for three years, and intends to remain here permanently the right to petition for divorce wherever her husband may be. At the hearing Air W.'E. Leicester will argue the case for the petitioner and Air S. A. Wiren for the respondent. The Solicitor-general (Air A. Fair, K.C.) will appear as amicus curiae.
